Client Overview

Client: Gaia (NASDAQ: GAIA), a member-supported streaming service with a library of more than 10,000 films and series on yoga, wellness, spirituality, consciousness, ancient civilizations and UAP disclosure.

Industry: Streaming Media | Wellness & Spirituality

Services: PR, Crisis Communications, Reputation Management and Wikipedia Transformation

Campaign Objective

Gaia came to Prism PR in crisis: its press coverage was almost entirely negative, and that record followed the company into search results, AI answers and its own Wikipedia page. The objective was to reverse it, with a year-long PR, crisis communications, reputation management and Wikipedia transformation campaign that would earn mainstream coverage, correct the public record and turn Gaia’s hosts and executives into recognized public names.

Strategy & Execution

Negative stories do not disappear on their own. They get outnumbered and outranked. Prism PR built a steady flow of credible, third-party coverage, so every reporter, search and prospective subscriber would find a different Gaia.

What we built:

  • UFO/UAP and disclosure: positioned Gaia’s experts as go-to authorities for Fox News, NewsNation and Vice as government UAP records made national news.
  • Lifestyle and wellness: placed Gaia in Parade and Yahoo lifestyle coverage, and in Newsweek’s Readers’ Choice ranking of Gaia as the No. 2 mindfulness and wellness app.
  • Business, AI and tech: turned Gaia’s expertise into timely stories, such as AI prompts for setting goals, picked up by MSN.
  • Spirituality and consciousness: booked Gaia hosts on the largest podcasts in the category, including Breakdown with Mayim Bialik, The Telepathy Tapes, The Lifestylist with Luke Storey, Almost 30 and Mind Love.

Top-tier media on-site: For the first time, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times Magazine and Real Simple sent reporters to Gaia’s live events at GaiaSphere, including its UAP and disclosure conference, its channeling conference and Emersion.

Wikipedia transformation: Every earned-media placement gave Wikipedia’s editors new verifiable, third-party sources to work from. As that coverage accumulated, the page was updated to reflect it.

Search results: Fresh, high-authority coverage from outlets such as Parade and Newsweek now outranks an older negative exposé in Google results for “gaia streaming service,” and every new placement pushes it further down.

The whole ecosystem: We secured coverage for more than 14 Gaia hosts and executives, and ran PR for sister brands Igniton and Yoga International, with placements in Travel + Leisure, Verywell Health and Good Men Project that each referenced Gaia.

Campaign Outcome: A Clean Record

In the first year of the engagement, the campaign generated:

  • 491 stories placed
  • A combined audience of 2.6 billion unique visitors per month
  • $24.4 million in advertising value equivalent
  • Zero negative stories, and 100% positive-to-neutral sentiment

Coverage went from nearly 100% negative before Prism to 100% positive or neutral. Mainstream outlets from Newsweek to Parade to Fox News now present Gaia as a credible wellness, spirituality and streaming brand.

Wikipedia, before and after:

  • Before: a lead built around “pseudoscience,” deplatforming and a list of conspiracy theories, plus disputed medical claims.
  • After: Newsweek’s No. 2 wellness app ranking in the lead, neutral public-company framing (NASDAQ: GAIA), wellness, spirituality and yoga as core descriptors, ancient civilizations treated as a legitimate topic, and neutral UAP language in place of conspiracy framing.

Final Takeaway

Reputation is rebuilt the same way it is lost: one headline at a time. Every placement is a permanent digital asset that shapes search results, AI answers, Wikipedia, investor confidence and subscriber decisions long after an ad campaign would have ended. For Gaia, a year of steady earned media turned a near-uniformly negative record into a clean one, and changed how the world’s most-read reference describes the company.
